Support to Orphan Families (DCT Project) Ongoing:


Project support to 20 number families Covid-19 affected beneficiary Rs. 2000 per month DCT (Direct Cash Transfer) for about 1 year. Monthly monitoring the indicators to continued education of children, improved nutrition, non-risk behaviour and health of children.

Project Objective:
1) To Improve Covid-19 rendered orphan and single parent children’s well-being through DCT and enable access to fair and equal opportunity.
2) Indicators could be access to and continued education, improved nutrition, non-risk behaviour.

Project Activities:

• Verification of the COVID affected families within PMC limit as per list.

• Collection of documents, Due Diligence and processing for DCT of bonafide beneficiaries.

• Fortnightly follow up with the families regarding child well-being.

• Monthly DCT reporting to the Donor.

• Submission of Quarterly (Qualitative and Quantitative) Project report.

Project Future - Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) 2022:


The key purpose of this project was to introduce government social security schemes as per beneficiary eligibility and support house hold to process application to those families who’s children lost their one or two parents. Total 150 beneficiaries are availed with different govt. schemes as per eligibility.

The project started on 1st April 2022 and finished on 19th August 2022.

Specific project goals included:

• Verify & validated eligibility for DBT for 150 HH affected by COVID within the PMC area.

• Supported 150 HH for the application process to relevant govt. social security/ welfare schemes.

Key activities:

1) 150 House hold assessment

2) 150 House hold identification & verification

3) 150 House hold screening through Haqdarshak app

4) Introduces govt social security and welfare schemes to beneficiary as per eligibility

5) Supported 150 HH for the documentation & application process to relevant govt. social security

Key Highlights:

1) In this project 83% widow women beneficiary was identified and selected for the DBT. In 152 selected families 258 children were identified & lost their parent.

Key Outcomes:

Identified and selected all 150 beneficiaries are aware about 20 govt social security, welfare and ULB welfare schemes in targeted area. Motivated all selected beneficiaries for schemes application process and enrolment.

Sanitation Project PMC - 2015


MASHAL has successfully completed the slum Sanitation project for the PMC in which over 300community toilets blocks were constructed for the slum dwellers in the PMC area. With help ofNGOs this was financially supported by the PMC and these toilets were constructed with thesupport of the people. Mashal constructed toilet blocks include separate children’s toilets andcaretaker rooms. Electricity and water are supplied by PMC free of cost and the management ofthese toilet blocks was undertaken by MASHAL for initial years with the help of local CBOs.

Sanitation improvement program, Latur and Osmanabad (1993-94)


MASHAL with financial assistance from Oxfam (USA) helped the people rendered homeless due to the earthquake in Latur in 1993, to construct temporary bathrooms and two pit latrines in the transit accommodations for hygienic conditions and to prevent health hazards.
